If you really love all the mugs, you could put up a series of narrow shelves, or plate rails around the perimeter of your kitchen or room, about 12 to 16 inches down from the ceiling. Line your mugs up along that shelf, they are up and out of your way, but on display where you can enjoy them and let them be conversation pieces. If you just don't love all of them, give some away or Good Will them. Keep the most interesting, perhaps write on the bottoms in permanent ink the place where you found it and the year, and / or who gave you the mug. Adds to the charm.

You could try a wall grid with hooks....hang your mugs on them. If you really have too many.. you can send some to me! I will pay for shipping...for some reason mine BREAK so easily...and I never buy them, only get them for gifts..:)

I love Judy's idea. I was going to say get an inexpensive accordian rack and hang them there. I collect mugs and i'm going to try Judy's idea.
