She has white canvas shoes (like Keds) that are getting pretty dirty. I've heard I can wash them in the washing machine - is there anything special I need to do?

I got my dog a new bed and she came in after running in the mud and not only got mud all over my kitchen floor, but she jumped in her new bed and now its all dirty..
There are no cleaning instructions on it which I find weird.. So should I put it in the washing machine?
Its like a pillow but looks like a couch i guess.. It doesnt have foam in it or anything, and I cant take the fabric off. But it was $30 and i dont wanna ruin it ya know..
Can someone help me? I don't know if i should just shove it in the wash with towels or something..

It is very thick and there is a lot of it. I chipped off what I could but there's heaps left. It's an synthetic fabric ( the crease-resistant type) so this may complicate things. I'm thinking about just throwing it in the bin.

Hi I bought a steamer which used to steam chicken in 15 minutes, but now it takes 25-30 minutes! it looks like theres somehting wrong with it - the only thing i can think off is that the thing that heats the steamer is not working properly and may need a clean - anyone got any ideas??

I didn't take out insurance or anything on it so can't really take it back!

Especially T-Shirts . I wash them in regular cycle because it doesn't say on the tag to use delicate. After 1-2 washes , T-shirts (cotton ) become too large . WHat is the reason? If I use delicate cycle , they don't wash well .

I live in a neighborhood where it will sometimes smell like an open sewer. Sometimes the air outside becomes very pungent and it is nowhere near a treatment plant. I keep my windows closed, but it still comes in through the vents.

How do I at least combat the smell? It is about to make me sick.

My husband and I just got married 2 days ago. On our wedding day a family member said "its like a new beginning everything that happened before is out the window" meaning some of the things we did to each other in the past. Is the slate really wiped clean when you get married?

It smells up all of our clothing. We've ran 5 loads with massive amounts of dryer sheets with no luck. Please help.

I have one of those jackets where there's fur around the hood, fur IN the hood, (though the hood is detachable), and fur inside the jacket, except the sleeves.. the tag says to wash in cold water, gentle cycle, then tumble dry on low.. and i've thought of just washing it then letting it airdry too, but that would take forever lol its a thick heavy jacket.. also, i've put a sweater in the dryer that also has some fur around the hood (only) and the fur got all matted and gross and doesn't look as nice.. so im wondering if there's some trick to washing these kinds of jackets with the fur.. because it's my favorite and I'm scared I'm going to wreck it!!! lol

I know how to remove them, but does anybody know how to PREVENT them? I'm not even using the liquid, I use the sheets. Could the brand make a difference? Thanks!

I'd love to hear what people have. This year I bought a Hoover Windtunnel, which was a lemon. It cost $165, and I lost the receipt so I couldn't even have it repaired! Then I purchased the Dirt Devil Vibe, which is the worst vacuum I've ever had! No suction! $80 wasted!
I have a lot of carpets, varying in height and style, including carpeted stairs. I have 2 long-haired always shedding pets, and 2 dirty little boys! I can not keep wasting money, I need a little advice, please!
What brand/style should I buy?
(I would prefer not to spend over $300)

Thanks for all answers!

I'm a Mom with two girls ages 4 and 6. I work 4 days on and 4 days off in 24 hour shifts. I have a 50 minute commute to and from work. On the days I work I wake up at 5:30am and get the kids ready for school and daycare. I drop the kids off in the morning and head to work. I get off at 5 and most of the time I'm not finished up with everything so I leave and pick up the kids if my husband hasn't got off of work yet. I get the kids and get home after 6 sometime and start getting the kids ready for bed, baths, dinner, ect. And they're tired and grumpy. The 6 year old is learning to help some and that's nice. We go to their room and read from 7:30 to 8 and I'm still having to do some work all in between the chaos. When they get to sleep I have to finish up what I haven't done at work, get stuff ready for tomorrow, shower, and try to get some sleep. (contuned in details...)
