ok, so i live on a military base, and our house is 100% ols asbestos tile...well, the cleaners or whoever did a screwed up job of waxing it before we moved in. How can I strip it EASILY? and reapply it EASILY so you dont see any lines in the floor?

Hey, cute name.

Anyway, I was on a submarine and it seemed like we spent more time stripping and rewaxing floors (with those asbestos tiles) than just about anything.

You have to use an ammonia-based wax stripper. You then have to get down on your hands and knees with a greenie (those green scrubbing pads) and scrub the cr@p out of the floor. As you finish an area (what you can reach from where you are), you have to use a wet cloth to take up the residue. If allowed to dry, the wax will just reconstitute itself and need to be stripped again.

When it's all clean and dry, then you have to apply a new coat of wax (you should be able to find some at the same place you got the stripper). We used Kimwipes (nylon mesh reinforced paper towels) to apply the wax. Put it down thin to minimize streaks and ridges. You'll probably also need to apply a second coat, since you stripped all the wax up earlier.

It's not an easy job. But, nothing is in the military.

Ammonia. It's not pleasant to work with, though. Any brand will do, and there's probably directions for stripping wax on the side of the bottle. But in case they don't, here's a link. Good luck!

You need to purchase stripper, you can get this from a janitorial supplier company. This will help take off the old wax that is on there. Then I would recommend getting a new johnson wax to redo it. You need to do very thin coats...
