I have one of those jackets where there's fur around the hood, fur IN the hood, (though the hood is detachable), and fur inside the jacket, except the sleeves.. the tag says to wash in cold water, gentle cycle, then tumble dry on low.. and i've thought of just washing it then letting it airdry too, but that would take forever lol its a thick heavy jacket.. also, i've put a sweater in the dryer that also has some fur around the hood (only) and the fur got all matted and gross and doesn't look as nice.. so im wondering if there's some trick to washing these kinds of jackets with the fur.. because it's my favorite and I'm scared I'm going to wreck it!!! lol

Like the coward I am, I'd take it to the dry cleaners.

I have a similar jacket and here are the easy steps I use to wash it:

1. Remove the hood (If the hood's dirty, you should handwash it separately)
2. Zip up the jacket completely so the fur is not ruined since it is inside of the jacket.
3. Use gentle cycle with regular detergent. (do NOT wash with anything else)
4. Tumble dry on low heat with regular fabric softener.

I promise this will work since it has worked for me. If the fur on the inside gets dirty, I would suggest taking it to the dry cleaners. Good luck! :)

Follow the manufactures washing instructions. Then get your self a flat wire brush. Some people use them on curly dogs. Go to the pet shop and pick one up they are 2" x 4" with a handle and very short bristles. I use mine only for my Faux Fur coat, I would never use it on an animal. Use it gently on the fur and it should come back to normal.

Cold water, gentle cycle with Wool-lite and Fabric softener. Through it in the dryer on low, or if you'd rather not risk it in the dryer, use a hair dryer on cool setting and fluff and rub the fur with your fingers. If the label on your coat says it can be washed and dried, then it can be washed and dried! Fabric softener and Wool-lite are the keys to non-matted fur! :)

you can turn it inside out, then try to wash it, or hand wash it, or you could also wash it before you go to bed take the hood off before washing it then hang it above a furnace or some kind of heat that you have on.

If is states washable, go ahead & wash & dry per instructions. Take a brush (fingernail brush, new pet brush, etc...) and give it a quick brushing before completely dry; do again before hanging it up.

Place it in a pillow case and tie a knot in it. Don't put it in the dryer just let it air dry.
