If your clothes come out of the machine with undissolved power still on them (usually dark things) it means that you either are overloading the machine, using too much powder, or are using too low of a water level. You should drop clothes in loosely to within 3 inches of the top of the agitator and stop there. Never pack or cram clothing in.

Ideally you should put a measured amount of powdered detergent in first, turn on the machine so that it starts to fill with water, and load the clothing as it fills with water.

Add powder to the water before putting your clothes in the washer. Don't use powder detergent on cold water loads, especially in the winter when the water is colder. It just won't disolve. For washing in cold water, try some Tide Coldwater.

Too much clothes and the water never washed over them enough to dissolve it.

Try putting your detergeant in BEFORE you put the clothes in and that should do the trick. IF that doesn't work, use liquid detergeant or dissolve the powder in water really well before pouring it over your clothes.

Add powder to the water before adding the clothes otherwise you are going to get the powder residue. Personally, I use liquid detergent so i dont have to worry about that

Add powder to the water (while the tub is filling) prior to putting the clothes in, or use liquid detergent. I agree with a previous poster ... maybe you're putting too many clothes in. Also, if you have hard water, this could be a factor.

Using liquid detergent works better. While using powder detergent, add to washer while it is filling up with water, before adding clothes, let the washer agitate for a couple of minutes to let the detergent mix, then add your clothes, also do not over load your washer.

I always start my washer and add detergent first and then stir with the broom handle to make sure it is dissolved before adding cloths. My black pants look better.
