Hi, My down comforter says I can wash it in warm water and tumble dry on low. I washed my comforter yesterday at the laundrymat and it smelled horrible. It smelled like BAD sewage. I took it home and jammed it in my washer, added a cup of tide detergent and washed it. It still smells horrible. I can't take the smell. How do I get rid of the smell? Please help!

I am getting ready to move into our first home. We've always lived in an apartment and I am trying to make sure that I stay on top of the cleaning so that I don't wind up overwhelmed...it's almost a 4,000 square foot home and I KNOW that I am going to be a busy woman. I am a stay at home mother as well. I'd like to make a spreadsheet of household chores so that I can set up a cleaning schedule to most effectively clean my house and KEEP it clean! What are some things that you do, on a daily basis, on a weekly basis, and on a monthly or semi-annual basis to keep a nice clean and tidy home for your family?

I just bought brand new Ugg boots and sprayed them with weather proofer, but then got caught in a down pour. They were a gorgeous soft mahogany suede and are now crispy and a horrbile sandy colour. I will never wear them again like this but wondered if it is possible to restore suede back to its former glory? If so is this expensive? Any suede experts out there?

I have a tight nap, light brown carpet. some of the stains will not come out with Sears' Capture dry cleaner. These stains are just plain tough. For mildew reasons, I prefer a dry cleaner, but the stains must go, and the carpet is much to expensive to throw out.
HELP Thank you Lee

Traditional cleaners, such as those you would use on porcelain, are too destructive and seem to mess up or dull the finish. Other products I've used just don't cut the film very well. Is there a magic bullet?

I'm not sure if they're fleas, but in a bathroom in my office building there are flea-like bugs flying around, we cleaned everything, but they're still there. How can we get rid of them without using a bomb.

Hi everyone!!! I have a home daycare and trying to organize it, especially for the holidays. What I collect most are children's books. I have planned to buy plastic storage bins and put a few mothballs inside and store books in these that pertain to the holiday and montly. Oh yeah and I am storing them outside. The reason for the mothballs is becasue someone told me that would keep insects out. Not sure if that is true. Is this a good idea or do anyone have any other suggestions.

I spilled some granulated sugar on my hot cooktop and it immediately melted and solidified. I've tried the special cooktop cleaner and it does nothing. I've also tried scraping it with a razor blade (recommended in my cooktop manual). It scraped off some of the mess, but most of it just won't come off. Any ideas?
