Is it even possible if animals have been living in a home for years? Just moved into a new home and the former owners had two dogs and a cat, and it smells disgusting in the basement.

I was in walmart the other day purchasing *Gain* and noticed Walmart now even has their own brand (good value) laundry soap. I think it was called Everyday Elegance(?) A friend of mine was with me also getting laundry soap and she picked up this large liquid bottle called Xtra. I noticed BOTH of these are way cheaper then what I pay for Gain and am wondering if any of you have used them, and if so what is your opinion of them? Ive been using Gain and All for as far back as I can remember and if I can save a few bucks in the laundry department as with most people Im all for it.

Thank you

The washing machine stops before it has reached full cycle- I have to turn it off, turn the dial round again full turn and then switch it on again and then it does the final spin but still stops short of completion, leaving clothes that are still soaking wet and water left in the drum. I tried to check the pipes- couldn't open the U bend pipes under the sink but unscrewed the pipe leading to the washing machine and noticed it was gunged up with gungy stuff- smelly too. Think the water maybe blocked by pipe blockage- may not be able to spin out properly. Also, when I run the tap it takes a while for sink water to drain. I could get a plumber to unblock pipes/drain but would that sort out the problem with the dial- is it stopping short of the full cycle because of the drainage problem or is it just faulty? Is a dial expensive to mend? Is it time I got a new washing machine or is this just a drainage problem?

I have been asking my husband for a dishwasher for 3 years. The only reason he can give me that he doesn't want me to get one is that they waste water. He says the use alot more water than doing them by hand. Is this true???

I have venetian blinds in every room. Anyone got a good idea on how to clean them. I have bought various "tools" from houseware shops but they are all quite useless. I suppose the secret is not to allow them to get too dirty i.e. dust them every other day, or once a week ......anyway just thought I would ask

The carpet has already been removed from the car. Just wondering if there are professional services that pretty much restore the carpet to its once youthful appearance

I have waited forever to purchase new appliances and have finally gotten a stainless steel fridge, microwave, and a gas stove that has a black stove top and stainless steel trim etc. I am having an awful time trying to get the black part to look clean! I've used Windex, Dawn soap and water, a commercial cleaner and the top usually looks cloudy or "smeared". Help!

I run my dishwasher almost everyday and yet it has a terrible "spoiled food" odor. Does anyone have any ideas about getting rid of it without damaging or dulling the stainless steel walls inside?

My daughter has a pink Nike jacket, it is all polyester, except for the lining and the threaded Nike emblem on the back. it sat in the damp basement all year, now it has mildew stains that I can't get out. Will the bleach ruin the nike emblem or the lining which is probably cotton, all of it is pink.

I spilled windex on my floor in my car where the ac vent circluates the air. I cleaned the carpet very well and the smell is no longer in the car. When I turn the AC on though it smells like windex really bad. Is there any way to clean the ac ducts in my car?
