I have waited forever to purchase new appliances and have finally gotten a stainless steel fridge, microwave, and a gas stove that has a black stove top and stainless steel trim etc. I am having an awful time trying to get the black part to look clean! I've used Windex, Dawn soap and water, a commercial cleaner and the top usually looks cloudy or "smeared". Help!

Have you tried Bar Keepers Friend? You could try a degreaser. Let the pot set in the degreaser for a few hours and then clean. Does someone have a high pressure hose? Manual car wash? Would need to secure the pan so that it does not walk on you and do not hold while you try car wash wand. There is the option to use fume free oven cleaner. Wear eye protection and gloves. These are only ideas. Try at your own risk. I only use stainless steel myself.

Don't use any of those things. There are cleaners made specifically for the stainless steel surface and the black ceramic top.
It's more like a polish..The one I use is called 3M stainless steel cleaner and polish, but I'm sure there are other brands.
Just look for those made to clean stainless steel. It does a great job.

never clean the top while it's still hot
use the cleaner that the mfgr recommends for the top
windex and stainless steel cleaner are good for the rest
clean with the grain

Have the same stove. My stove sparkles and I use it every day.

Clean with straight ammonia to remove the grease. Then remove the streaks with Windex and paper towels.

Barkeeper's Friend is NOT the way to go. It'll leave residue.

'Sheila Shine' for your stainless, 'Ceramibrite' for your top, if it's a 'glass' top. If not use the foaming windex after a good cleaning with hot water and Greased Lightning
