I spilled windex on my floor in my car where the ac vent circluates the air. I cleaned the carpet very well and the smell is no longer in the car. When I turn the AC on though it smells like windex really bad. Is there any way to clean the ac ducts in my car?

try opening all the windows on a hot day. Start your car and run the heater full blast. It will take a few mins but it will dissipate.
You might also try removing the cover to the intake fan and cleaning out the padding. It is just under the passengers dash. You can recognize it if you look for a round cover and listen for it while you turn the fan on and off.

Put some dryer sheets in your car to help freshen the air and cover up the smell until the windex dissipates put these under the seats and you can also hang one up somewhere in your car

Also place a bowl of White Vinegar in your car overnight, but don't forget to remove it before using the car, make sure the windows are closed while doing this method

Or place a container of Baking soda in your car overnight or during the times you are not using your car, also you can sprinkle this on your car carpeting and allow this to work several hours or a few days then just vacuum up keep windows closed while performing this method then remove after treatment and vacuuming has been done then open your windows and allow to air out

Good Luck !

The scent is brought about by humidity being trapped whilst the A/C device shuts down, the humid ecosystem breeds spores and different nasty smelling stuff. To therapy it now, take it in for servicing and get them to flush and deoderize the A/C device. There must be a house made thank you to do it... this is likewise what you may desire to do sooner or later to steer away from this in the 1st place, this is: After working the A/C for any volume of time, earlier you swap off the vehicle, turn off the A/C and run universal air for the duration of the device for a couple of minutes. do no longer close the vehicle off with out having before became off the A/C and having run outdoors air; which will dry the moisture and forestall this from happening. This looks to electrify specific makes of automobiles. Curious how some automakers have solved this concern mutually as others have not.

Apparently you can get this thing that is a bit like a grenade that you put on the floor of the car and run the ac - it's meant to take the smell out of it. Think you can get it at a car dealer or good autoparts shop. Not sure of the name of it but if you ask, I'm sure they will know what you are talking about.

Depending on the model car, you may have filters in the A/C system, which are holding the odor. I had a similar problem and cured it by changing the filter on my Pontiac Montana Van, which was located through the glove compartment.

I did something like this; I turned on the heat for a while and that got rid of the smell, but it took a few times.

Try cat litter (in a stocking) it absorbs odors and moisture like thousands of tiny sponges. It's like putting charcoal in the fridge to get rid of odors.

It's Environmentally friendly, biodegradable, chemical free.

No
Just run the ac with the window open and it will wear out.
