Traditional cleaners, such as those you would use on porcelain, are too destructive and seem to mess up or dull the finish. Other products I've used just don't cut the film very well. Is there a magic bullet?

There are all kinds of fiberglass cleaners on the market. If you can't find one in a department store try a hardware store.

After you clean it, applying glasswax to the surface will help to keep it clean and shining. This is a product that will require some buffing and some elbow grease, but the results are wonderful and will help shed water rather than allowing buildup of soap scum and hard water on the surface.
