Build up in the dishwasher, the intake hose is clogged and it's not getting the proper amount of water, the drain is clogged with clay residue from the liquid detergent, that's why I use powder detergent in my machine. Clean the inside of the machine with Iron Out, according to the directions and if that doesn't help, call the repairman if you can't check the screen in the hose yourself or check the drain yourself. Tell them what's wrong over the phone, my guy will ask me what I've done and even give me suggestions on how to do it myself if it might be something minor.

I scrape of any excess food and then just put them in the dishwasher. What is the sense of rinsing them off and wasting water if the dishwasher is going to do the job. If I can take the time to rinse them, I mine as well just wash them in the sink. I usually only have to run the dishwasher once a week and even tho they may sit for a while they still come out clean without the rinsing. I do wash in the sink any pots and pans as they take up too much room in the dishwasher.

You may have build-up in the dishwasher.. I run sweetened/unsweetened drink mix through my dishwasher once a month to keep it clean/fresh. Good luck
