If detergent or fabric softener is clogging up your washing machine, then run a cup of white vinegar through it. Vinegar has enough acid in it to dissolve any chunky build up you have in the machine and won't harm your wash basin (most basins are porcelain or stainless steel) as other chemicals would.

same thing happened to me. just run about 5 empty loads with just bleach in it. don't use any saop though. the bleach will clean out all the soap.

switch to a liquid soap, try useing C.L.R. or a soap scum remover in it, [with out cloths]
