Some guy threw up in the hallway last night and the carpet stinks now. It's clean of sick, its not like you can see it, but it still smells.

Can anyone suggest the best way of ridding the smell?

I have a candle in a wide glass (from IKEA) and it's burnt about as much as it can. What's the best way of getting that last cm or so of wax out so that I can use the glass for something else, or at least recycle it without the gunk on the bottom?

Thanks.

Does anyone have a creative suggestion for what to do with the "third category" of mail items....things that are not bills or important papers (which I have a place for already so I don't forget to pay them and/or file them) but that are not true "junk mail" that I can throw away? I'm talking about things like coupons, "calendars of events" for parks and recreation and such, etc? I really don't want a refrigerator covered with clutter, but I need to keep these things semi-visible where I don't forget to look at them periodically, but not piled up on my dining room table? Thanks for any help!

The freezer quit working and we didn't know it. Needless to say we had to throw out everything that was in it. Now there is a HORRIBLE odor in the freezer. We have tried putting boxes of baking soda in it, as well as just spreading baking soda too. The odor is still there. How can I get rid of the odor? I do not want to pay to have it fixed if it will never be able to be used because of the smell.

I live in an apartment complex in Hawaii that has a bad roach problem. THey spray weekly to get rid but it still seem that there has to be a way to get them to stay away from my apartment....kinda grosses me out!

Why does my dishwasher do such a crappy job? Leaving behind minute particles on dishes, even though I rinse them well before putting them in the dishwasher. And it's a fairly recent year Whirlpool.

Yeah i'm a dumbass and I burned some sausage in my microwave. Now I need to know to get the smell out of my place. I did the sprays, the fans on full blast, the windows and doors open and all that jazz but nothings worked. PLEASE HELP ME! I'm tired of my roommates bitching about it! Thanks for your suggestions!

I saw the other posting where they suggest a high concentration of bleach. I can't do that since I have a septic system. I've tried vinegar, normal amounts of biodegradable bleach, leaving the lid open in between washings... help! it always smells like sweaty gym socks.

Can anyone tell me why it is supposedly best to turn clothes wrong side out when washing & drying them? What difference does it make. It is such a hassel to turn them wrong side out when you wash & then have to turn right around & reverse the procedure when they're dry. Why bother with it?
