There is quite a v ariety of v ery good products on the market for those "pet accidents" on furniture or carpeting. The pee-pees, the potties and the barfies. Having had dogs around for about thirty years, we've dealt with plenty of those, and we've found those products very effective. Many of the manufacturers of general household products now put out a spray cleaner just for this purpose, and Arm and Hammer also has a great powder product called "Pet Fresh" -sprinkle on/vacuum up. d esigned as both carpet and whole-room deodorizer Plus it has an added feature that loosens either pet hairs or any of those other bits and pieces that get static-clung to your carpet pile.
My bet is that if these products will work on "pet pongs" they ought to work on human ones LOL

Simplest odor controller I know of is baking soda. Just sprinkle it on the source of the odor, let it sit over night, and vacuum it up. There are also commercial products on the market. Odor Eaters makes a spray for carpet that works extremely well. Just spray it on and let it dry. It uses an enzyme based cleaner that doesn't even have to be cleaned back of the carpet.
However if the source of the odor is in the pad under the carpet, that is harder to deal with. There, the Odor Eater spray will likely work best, because you can saturate the area. As a last resort, the carpet might need to be pulled up and the pad replaced. My guess is that the carpet is probably glued down, so one of the above treatments should do the trick.

Bicarbonate of soda is wonderful for this; (not the same as baking soda which is B of S and cream of Tartar).
If the carpet is dry sprinkle it on, brush it in, leave overnight and hoover out. If it happens again Bicarb can also be dissolved in water when you do the initial washing and rinsing.
To avoid it happening again don't let him in.
One of the previous answers mentioned zaflora; this is probably Zoflora concentrated disinfectant; comes in several very nice smells and will destroy any bacteria but it will only mask smells not remove them. The household equivalent of wearing perfume rather than taking a shower.

Hi
I would recommended cleaning your carpets and using a disinfectant like Milgo SR (may need to go to a janitorial supply store for this and ask for a disinfectant for carpet) and put it in the rinse water. Deodorizers just cover up the smell for a while and disinfectant kill bacteria in the carpet.
Please DO NOT put anything on the carpet that was not made for carpet

I even have used a large tip from Kim & Aggie (How sparkling is your living house) & what they used grew to become right into a can of coke, poured directly to the stain - i think of this grew to become into to interrupt it down & if the ill grew to become into nevertheless there, mop up with paper towels - if the ill is sparkling so for you to talk. Then sprinkle some baking soda, this could take in & neutralise the smell. you're able to desire to enable it dry & then vacuum the dried baking soda. Baking soda is likewise a large neutraliser for carpets & to apply interior the refrigerator

Plain old white vinegar will do the trick. Try diluting it with water before you put it on the carpet. Also, there is a product called "Kids and Pets". I found it at the grocery store and it is made for this very thing! It works great!

Clean with carpet shampoo and while it's still damp sprinkle liberally with baking soda and allow it to dry in thoroughly before vacuuming off.

Gently scrub the area with warm water and Borax (from the laundry section of the grocery store). Soak up what you can with towels and let it dry. Vacuum thoroughly. Sprinkle area with baking soda and let sit for at least 30 minutes and vacuum thoroughly again. That should do it for you.

Try a carpet shampooer and use febreeze. Did you try scrubbing it with soap and a scrub brush. Also, try putting baking soda on it, let it sit for a while and vacuum it up. Baking soda soaks up smells.
