Soak it in a mixture of water and Murphy's Oil Soap. I use Murphy's to clean my vehicle. When I am done, the cleaning rags are cleaner than when I start!

I would use Dawn dish detergent, it is marketed for cutting grease. if not that, try another all purpose grease cutter from the supermarket.
