I need to buy a tall freezer, larder fridge, dishwasher and washing machine when I move house. I know that some brands are cheap as they are lower quality, but now realise that many are the same basic product with just a different name badge. I have liked the dishwasher that I bought recently, which was a Bosch and am tempted to stick with them. It appears that they are exactly the same as Zanussi and Electolux though... Looking at this family of products and above, who offers really good value for money ratehr than paying for a label?

My wife and I are looking to build a new home next year and are interested in an energy efficiant house. We are planning to use thermosofts radiant heat flooring, indirect lighting (low voltage lighting) as well as alot of other things. I stumbled onto a site that has a lifetime warrenty on there product www.valuebuild.com. Has anyone ever used something like this? Does using just osb and the structured foam instead of 2X4 studs compromise structural integrety? Would it hold up to the weather? What are possible problems with the system ? I have lots of questions about it that I would love to talk to a contractor about. It seems like it is a possible way to go but I am half way scared to go that route since it is not common. I'm affraid I'll dump a fortune into the house and it will not hold up after a few years. Any comments?

My dream quiet place is by myself in a study. I can picture the room dark with lamps everywhere. I would have papers on a desk, books scattered everywhere, and nice leather furniture. I wish it were true.

My cousin went up to the roof, just to see how far she'd see. It was ok, but now she can't get off, because she is afraid (gets giddy).
She is just sitting up there, on the last step of the roof ladder and won't bulge. I told her not to be a baby, but come down, and she won't.
If I tell her grandmother (she lives with her grandmother who is my great grand aunt), she won't let her go to the school party next week, she said she would not go if she did something silly.
How can I get her off without telling no one, obviously?

ok...i want my bedding to look like this: http://store.delias.com/item.do?categoryID=1576&itemID=47851&sizeFilter=&colorFilter=&brandFilter= and i'm gonna make something like this: http://www.pbteen.com/products/p2395/index.cfm?pkey=caccwal that will sort of match the bedding (with the musical theme and stuff). i was wondering what color i should paint my walls. i was thinking about leaving them white. and then painting like a 12'' wide pink (same as the bedding) stripe around the middle of the walls. and then putting like 3'' wide light green stripes right above/below the pink stipe. but leaving like one inch of white between each stripe. do you think that would look good?? if not, what do you think would look good?? also, what is a good brand of paint to use?

It's on the ceiling of my front porch and there are about 10 wasps working on it. I was told to get some kind of spray but I'm afraid of making them mad and having them come after me. No clue what to do.

Also, it seems as though my front door is a favorite place for mosquitoes to hang out and I need a way to keep them away as well. They always get into my house and Halloween night, my door will be open quite a bit.

Should I just have an exterminator come to my house? I'm just really afraid of bugs that sting and my night in shining armor is away fighting off other "bugs" lol. Thanks in advance for your answers.

I have my own flat now. I have some spare space in the bedroom I would love a punchbag problem is it's a council flat the people upstairs wouldn't like the noise.

I love exercise it's one thing which helps if I get irritated.

What else can I get which is less noisy? Does such a thing exist as spring things you can attach to the wall and pull or something?

I know this sounds like an obvious question - I am trying to get a pair of gray sweatpants to turn completely white (for a halloween costume). I put them through the wash with about 3 cups of bleach and not a thing happened (which is bizarre b/c usually I accidentally bleach everything). I was thinking of just soaking them in bleach, but am worried it will put holes in the fabric...any ideas? Thanks!

Our back boiler circa 1978 seems to have blown a green capacitor serving the gas valve. Where can we get a replacement? Do they still make them after all these years and any idea what the part number of it would be or what I should ask for in the plumbing shop? (It's not me who's doing the fixing I hasten to add)

I have quite a few things that I *should* do today... the kitchen should be cleaned, the bathrooms could use a good cleaning today...there's laundry to do and dusting and vacumming and well, you know the list... when you decide to clean your house, where is the first place you start?

I've just fitted a new low power (flurescent) bulb in a ceiling lighting fitting. However, when the light is switched off, it continues to emit at about 3 second intervals, a faint flash. The bulb has three loops of tubing, of which it appears only 1 flashes. Any ideas?
I've two, but I don't know if they might result in this strange behaviour. It is possible that the light switch is on the 'wrong' side of the bulb (on the neutral side, not the live side). It may also be possible that the neutral has some voltage on it, if its not going to ground effectively. I don't know if either of these situations could result in this behaviour though.
So, any ideas? comments?
(I've moved the bulb elsewhere, and it was fine, and a different bulb taken from elsewhere does the same thing in this particular fitting). Oh yes, its not a dimmer switch.

This is a small chandelier with 12 (globe) bulbs, G16.5 in size. Seems that whenever I replace bulbs, a few of them very quickly go out. Is this because there may be a mix of bulb wattage (some 25w, some 40w)?
