It's on the ceiling of my front porch and there are about 10 wasps working on it. I was told to get some kind of spray but I'm afraid of making them mad and having them come after me. No clue what to do.

Also, it seems as though my front door is a favorite place for mosquitoes to hang out and I need a way to keep them away as well. They always get into my house and Halloween night, my door will be open quite a bit.

Should I just have an exterminator come to my house? I'm just really afraid of bugs that sting and my night in shining armor is away fighting off other "bugs" lol. Thanks in advance for your answers.

Wait for nightfall when the temperature drops and the wasps are inside for the night. Then spray the beejabbers out of it. There are sprays that reach over 12 feet, so you can stand away from the nest. Do the same the next night to polish them off. Then use a broom to knock it down and spray it some more.

Spray at night. If there are any wasps flying around or hanging on walls, etc. - hit them with the strongest hold hairspray you can get your hands on (glues up their wings, making it difficult or impossible for them to fly). After spraying the %$( out of the nest, knock it down, spray some more, bag it and toss. As for mosquitoes, make sure you don't have standing water anywhere near (even gutters can do this without you knowing), or very thick areas of foliage. Thin out the foliage and make sure you don't have unknown mosquito breeding areas near your door. There are non-toxic options for areas that hold water. Bt is a great non-toxic bacteria that will kill mosquitoes, but it can also harm other insects - http://www.ext.colostate.edu/PUBS/INSECT/05556.html

You can find a spray for wasps at Home Depot or Lowes. It will knock them down from long range.

Spray them at night so they are all home.
Take down the next, and watch for any stragglers that might have missed the spraying.

The mosquitoes are a different problem, you can spray the area a few times, but they will fly in from next door.

i agree with the consensus here, night/cold time, pesticide, spray, then RUN!

i would say though that if they are bees, you should call a local farm/orchard since the bees are experiencing a massive plague of some kind and they would most likely bee (bee get it?) very grateful to get a new hive. but if they are wasps/hornets get rid of them. and what i was going to add was that you should do it AS SOON AS YOU CAN because if you let them get the upper hand you will definately need a professional, and they can do damage to your house. with halloween coming up-in the words of your favorite politician- think of the children! do it for the kids!- :)

good luck and have a fall back point with at least a screen if your plan goes awry. it can happen quickly!

I agree, wait until night when they are sleeping naively...then spray the crap out of it. Those insecticides work very fast, so even when they realize what is happening it will be too late, they'll start dropping dead. Then as the previous poster said, get a long broom handle (or something with a long pole) and knock it down and spray it some more. Then get your sh#t kicking boots on and stomp on it, then get a brick and smash it over the nest....screaming I WON I WON!!!!!

Soak it with wasp spray, then go away it. shop an eye fixed on it, so as that they dont come lower back. one organic way is birds, look up the variety who consume wasp. get that style of birdseed, in the event that they're on your section, and Wasps wont somewhat be a situation from now on. or attempt Venus fly traps or different flora that deter and help get rid of bugs. hi, hell attempt the zapper. purely see what theory works for you. theres only one thing approximately that area that retains bringing them lower back.

you spray them at night because that is when they are ALL home and you can kill everybody with one shot! just be ready to shoot as soon as you turn on the light because this will wake them and they will start to fly! any wasps you miss will keep coming back pissed! be careful.

I make m territory known to Insects, Spiders and any other whatever....I ATTACK them, then they never return, but with bees, you would have to go with spraying the heck out of it...Make you territory known to creatures, show them that you are the king (or queen), and if the want to stay, they have to pay rent, or pay with their life......
