My Dad just bought an 50yo house and started rebuiling. I feel like experienced in this area from my previous activities and was trying to convice my Dad to knock it down and build a new one. The house is in Europe made of solid bricks and has NO historical value.
.
I did a project analysis showing advantages and disadvantages of both options favoring the option of knocking it down and building a new one. My Dad would stubbornly not listen.
.
After three months of rebuilidng, ALL the problems described have shown up including statics, wet walls, wooden ceiling and others. My Dad would admit now his decision was wrong but he is keeping on rebuiling it because as he said, he already has gone too far to start it over.
.
I think he should stop it and knock it down even at this point. It seems that I have a problem seeing my dad executing a stupid decision. I know it is none of my business, but just can't be seeing my closest relative to do stupid things.
.
What should I do?

I'm wondering if there is some sort of 'formula' that I could put on the grass so the dogs don't want to be around the area, or something that would neutralize the scent of other dogs. It seems like my lawn is the local potty stop. Help!

But theyre so expensive! Me and my boyfriend live together, and the bed is about 10-12 years old. There's a sink in the middle and you spend your night fighting to stay out of it. We try flippinf the matress often but it doesn't help. I think the bed has just about seen its last day! Where can a find good, realllly good price on a bed. We're in college and it's almost Christmas time, so the cheaper, the better! We live in Western PA too, so somewhere around here would be nice! Thank you all!

Here are the materials i have bought: cement, hollow blocks, gravel, sands, steel bars. I have no budget to hire a contractor, so i am interested in building it myself, with a little help from my friends.. I have no architecture experience. Just want to build a simple single storey house, 1 bedroom, a living room, a kitchen and a bathroom.

I have an older house and it has a floor furnace and the grate is in the living room in the doorway leading to the dining room. I need some ideas on how to protect my 7 month old from accidently crawing on it. I try to keep my eye on her, but there have been a couple times when I just left the room for a minute and she was rolling towards it. I would like to put some kind of fence around it, but nothing I have found in stores will work, is there anyone with the same problem, who would have some suggestions of what I could do. I thought of just setting stuff around it, but I am afraid of when she starts crawling she will just get around it somehow. HELP!

Sulfur colored light floods my windows and my back yard so I can't enjoy the natural light of the moon and stars. Does anyone have any ideas I can present to him that would allow him to enjoy his light rom his side, but block the light from my own yard?
