i have a window in my shower. it is not a full size window but a little smaller. it is the crank open style. we are re-doing our bath and shower alcove and we are wanting to completely eliminate that window in the shower. we took the frame off but the DIY book we have doesn't have anything on to how to remove the window and then how to block off that area so it can just be a regular wall like the rest. so the question is how do we remove the window? then how do we block it off to match it to the rest of the wall.????

We have not long lived in our current house but we have noticed the floor in out living room has been risen at some point by about 15cm, and we are the only house on the street that has this.

We slid a knife under the step and it just kept going, so it seems hollow.

There is no record of this in any of our info or anything and the house was build about 15 yrs ago.

The house has no central heating, only storage heaters, so don't think there'd be any piping.

Anybody know of any logical reasons that it would have been risen as we haven't got any way of cheking and we are oh so curious?

Thanks

I dealt with this problem last year. I live near a field and last winter I must've dealt with at least 15-20 mice. I hadn't had any again until now so I know this isn't the only one. How can I get rid of them once and for all?

OK this is a stab in the dark. I need someone to draw up a some blueprints for me to build an apartment on my house for my Mom who is 76 we are looking at approx 600 sq feet. Mom is in good shape physically but Dad passed away just a month ago and I want to get her moved by me as soon as possible while she is still strong enough to make some decisons and strong enough to move.

Mom wants something simple a small bedroom with a bathroom accesibale to that and a closet to hang her clothes a very small kitchen and a dining and living room combo.

I would like to see the bathroom for a elderly lady because I know she will get there someday I hope I mean a stand up shower only with a seat built into it and all doors wide enough for a wheel chair.

I would not be asking for the help if I could afford just to slap down some money and have somebody do it. Mom is paying for her own building. I just don't want her to spend everything she has to to that
