For years I have been planning to build my own cabin. I very much want to live a much simpler lifestyle. Info on do-it-yourself, affordable solar power has been my biggest obstacle. Wind power would also be ideal in my area, but there's even less info on that.

The people that lived in this place before I did were really bad decorators. Pretty much all of the molding in my condo here is the natural wood with the exception of the bathroom. In this room, they painted the molding blue, the same paint that they used to paint one of the bedroom.

I want to get it back to natural in the bathroom. I know I could strip the paint. What kind work would this be? Could I strip off the paint that should be on a wall? Is there a special varnish I should be using because it's in the bathroom?

How could I restore it to the wood matching the rest of the molding in the house?

Ok, of course my Grapefruit tree is baring fruit. The thing is annoying neighborhood kids (about from age 6-10) are always plucking them and destroying/mutaliating them for fun when we aren't looking. It's hard to spot them when they do it, as my fruit tree is in front of my house, and I'm always inside. At times I do hear them, and sometimes, like just recently, I can't. I don't know when they do it, but I never have a chance to catch them "red handed". It's tough, so trying to get them to learn a lesson is pretty difficult. Last time I tried, they scurried off real fast, and that was like 4 years ago.

So any solutions to getting these kids from destroying my fruit?! I could probably go as far as landmines and cameras, but that's costly, especially with lawsuits. I can't go to these kids' houses, as I don't know where they live. I'm pretty sure there's laws against this disruptive behavior, right?

In any case, I would really like to know how to get rid of these kids.

I am trying to replace existing vanity bowl sink from bathroom and when trying to take the faucets out, there are flexible pipes that connect at the bottom of faucets (to bring in cold and hot water). The nuts that connect those pipes to the bottom of faucets are in very tight space (behind and under the vanity sink bowl) and nut is screwed very tight to open by hand. Any ideas or tools to reach and open this nut so that the faucets can be take out and the sink bowl can be removed?

I just got this Troy-Bilt 23-HP V-Twin 50" Automatic Garden Tractor. I was test driving it around the yard and noticed the front tires point in. Being I have never had or ridden a ride mower before I don't know if this in normal. I tried to look it up in the book it came with and it did not show anything.

I've been living in the same house for a long time, and we always use about 200 cubic feet/month, getting a water bill around $40 like clockwork. I just got a $200 water bill saying I used more than 800 cubic feet- what would cause this??

I checked the water meter and the last two weeks I only used 100 cubic feet of water, so I don't think it's a leak.

Thank you!

They say my apartment has electrical outlets that are not high enough voltage to support a clothes dryer. Does anyone make a clothes dryer that will work with low voltage outlets (like using less heat for longer periods of time)?? If so, where can I find one?

When you flush the toilet, you have to leave the handle down an extra second or 2 for it to flush. Otherwise the bowl will not empty. it's annoying when we have guests & they think they have broke something.

So, here's my situation. I have had a couple incidents where water appears to be dripping from my air duct in the ceiling above my bedroom closet. It hasn't been a lot of water, just a small amount. It's dripped onto my drop ceiling tile two times. I got up in there and was able to see that there was a small amount of water on top of the air duct that has trickled down. Is this MY air duct creating this water/condensation? Or, here's a key factor, is it the upstairs neighbor? I live in a condo and there is a resident upstairs and I'm pretty certain their bathroom is above my closet. So, is hit possible to have water appear on top of the duct due to something wrong with my duct or heating/ac system (heat pump). Or, is it more than likely the upstairs neighbor having some kind of plumbing issue/toilet overflow issue? Thanks!
