When you flush the toilet, you have to leave the handle down an extra second or 2 for it to flush. Otherwise the bowl will not empty. it's annoying when we have guests & they think they have broke something.

A lot of times with the newer 1.6 gallon flush toilets you get this problem. After following all of the other advise if it still is giving you trouble try using a small screwdriver to clear out the small holes under the inside of the bowl. They are designed to swirl the water to make it flush properly. If they get blocked partially or totally the toilet will not flush properly. You can also use the curved end of a coat hanger, just open it up enough to allow you to use it. I have found that slime or leftover chips or pieces of porcelain can get in the holes and block them.

this is an easy fix....remove the lid of the toilet in question...at the bottom you will see a rubber or plastic toilet flapper..(if you cant find it follow the small chain from the handle to the flapper)remove the flapper and install a new one...make sure when installing it that you make the chain as tight as you can but not so tight that it does not rest on the flush valve(plastic part located in the center of the toilet tank)This will make the annoying poblem go away... good luck

This sometimes happens with the new low flush toilets. Try adjusting the innards to make sure that the tank empties completely.

adjust the little hook on the chain in the water tank. shorten up the slack a little bit at a time until your problem is solved. Don't make it to tight or the flapper wont seat
