Having a Towel Radiator (approx 1450 BTU's) fitted in bathroom, existing radiator is being removed. What does this entail? The whole bathroom is being fitted by a reputable company but as it will be Dec just wondering if I am likely to be without heating for long? Also just as a matter of interest, having heard to many stories about these towel radiators I am a bit concerned it will not heat the bathroom to the comfortable way I like it. If it didn't how easy is it to instal another small normal type radiator in with it? My husband is going daft saying it would look stupid after spending so much but as I said I like the bathroom comfortable!!!

I want to remove the old 100mm fibre glass insulation rolls from my loft and replace them with a SuperQuilt type option (i.e. 100mm thickness but the equivalent of the recommended 270mm thickness). I cannot add the new insulation on top, as I need to keep the total insulation below the height of the joists to allow me to put boarding down for storage.

Therefore, does anyone know how difficult/ dangerous/ unpleasant removing fibre glass rolls is? Any tips? Or should I not even bother?!?! Thanks

When the flush is used at my parents house the water screams until the systern has filled back up , one way to stop it is to turn on the cold tap and slowly turn it down, this will help the problem but it takes so long to fill the system back up again. Also the stop tap has been turned down but it still makes an awful niose This has only started to happen recently,no problems before. Any ideas please.

I am thinking of getting a solar blanket for my pool to reduce evaporation, however my pool does not have coping. Its an inground pool, with pebble crete. I was wondering if the blanket will blow off, because I do not have the coping. Anyone had any problems with a similar pool type? Thanks.

Can anyone tell me about planning permission and using drawings?

I am interested in either a single story side or rear or both elevation. Not sure exactly what or how i want it. I did get an architect out to give a quote for drawings and sorting the planning permission out. But he never gave any ideas of how the space could be used...He quoted £1000 and was pretty useless really. It has put me off getting another architect. Is there anyway i can do the drawing myself and add maybe photos to the planning application? Do the drawings have to be technical/cad or can they be drawings with just real measurements??

thanks

I am painting my living room in a deep red color but I have no idea what color to do the couches..I have to use slipcovers right now because we have some mix and match furniture...I was thinking of doing some sort of chocolate brown and a maybe a khaki or beige colored curtain. Am I crazy? What are your opinions?

my door knob is circular in shape. By pressing the middle button, my room will be automatically lock. By turning the knob from inside of my room, it will be unlock again. However from the outside, you will have to use a key to unlock the door. Now, the problem is both of these solutions do not work and my room is still unlock. How can unlock my door?

I live in north texas and the web worms ( I think that is what they are called) have been the worst I have ever seen in all the years I have lived here. They eat the green leaves off of particular type trees in the neighborhood, they have been attacking and eating all the leaves off of my dwarf yopon hollies recently. I have been told that generally the shrub/tree will survive and regrow new leaves. In the meantime the plants look horrible. I think by the time they all grow back, the worms will be making another round. They have been in our neighborhood twice this year alone, for extended periods of time. Any suggestions on ways to kill them without harming my shrubs? In 22 years in my home I have never had to deal with them, now I fear this will be an ongoing reoccuring problem. Any tips, especially any non toxic solutions would be most appreciated.
Thanks.

Ok, so I'm putting up Christmas lights and so far am only using one circuit, it's a 15a piggyback breaker. So far my count looks like this:

4650 .41 watt mini lights
50 5 watt C9s

That's around 2150 watts and I have yet to flip the breaker, any idea why? Also it is going through a timer which has a 15amp breaker in it, and there's a GFCI on the circuit, thanks in advance.
