Why don't you have sliding doors which will save on space so you don't have to open them outwards.

Not a difficult task really. I'd want to first make sure I could find doors/door/folding screen; that would span the opening.

The alcove corners should be studded beneath the wall material; and you can add studs to them on the wall face; then proceed with hanging/mounting whatever type of doors you obtain.

You might decide you want/need the same wall finish; or door way molding to cover the framework. You can fill over as well with framing and drywall should that space be large enough.

In side the new "Closet" you can determine where studs are to hang a rod for hanging clothes/ add shelves; etc.

Actually a lot of people got the egress window issue correct. Their reasons are wrong though. It's not sized specifically per code for your escape in case of fire. It is sized for a firefighter with equipment on to get into the room to save your fanny! So check with the code enforcement for the window size...you must have a window in a bedroom! And a bedroom that has to be accessed from another bedroom, cannot be calculated as a room into the resale of the house. It will be counted as a closet, not a bedroom.

It depends on what type of wardtrobe you have. If it is mostly T shirts and jeans your gonna want more shelves or drawyers. If you have a lot of things that need hanging (dresses, slackcks etc.) you would want to put up poles and hangers.

Hope this helps

buy 2 doors smaller than alcove width.
measure difference.
buy wood half this measurment in thickness/fasten wood to wall
screw door hinges to frame.top and bottom gaps if any can be filled by wood of relavant thickness
interior put battern on wall and fit shelves or hanging rails.
