It is a 10' x 12' slab that will support walls on two sides. As I am in the South, I plan on a 12" x 12" footer on those two sides. I wasn't planning on using wire mesh with the fiber additive, but thought the rebar would still be a good idea. True?

No sissy comments like posted on a similar question asked before ----> If the best way you can identify this person is as "a guy", then get "him" the same thing you'd get for a "gurl". It won't matter. They're not "real" anyway.
Or else, listen to "madluv".
Try to actually consider this person as a person. Get him something he might really need or want.
If you can't do that, reconsider if you should be giving him anything at all

I'm building a backyard fireplace(?) firepit and I have some leftover concrete from a sidewalk project and anyhow I figure I make the walls of the fireplace with concrete bricks. Then I remember someone once told me that concrete explodes at high temp. Is that true? And does that rule also apply to rocks?

Since I have been using a Netto brand of fabric softener, the machine usually fails to take it up.
I have cleaned out the drawer where the powders and conditioner goes.
The instructions simply say put a capful in the machine, but it appears much thicker than others I have used, though some required being diluted before use.

We have just built a log home in the mountains. This morning we discovered 3 tomatoes next to our fireplace. 2 were untouched, the 3rd was 1/2 eaten. The tomatoes were carried up from the basement by something. I also discovered an empty sugar bowl and a bag of buns and a loaf of bread missing off my counter tops. Assume we have field mice and/or packrat. Someone even suggested a Pine Martin. Possibly even squirrels. Anyone have any suggestions. Can't even find the plastic bread wrapper bags and yet we have all cracks and crevices sealed.

I have a double sided fire place in my house and when I have a fire the smoke billows out of the fire place filling my house. It is the worst when I start the fire and also when the fire dies down, even after its been burning for hours. The flue is wide open and the chimmney is very clean. Am I missing something, is there anything I can try. Any advice would be apreciated.

We are having a satellite dish installed but the landlord does not want it attached to the house. The satellite company todl us we need a galvanized steel pole 3 1/2 inch in diameter. Nobody we have called has ever heard of one that size and honestly neither have I. The thickest we found was 2 3/8 inch. Has anyone ever heard of such thick pipe and if so where can I find it? We haev tried Lowes, Home Depot as well as ALL fo the local hardware shops.

Because in my opinion, I think it's funny that people would spend money on dry-cleaning their jeans. I can understand other fabrics, but jeans?! I can maybe understand if you take it to the cleaners to get a nice 'pressing' and have pleats done, but for goodness sake.....use an iron!

Your thoughts, please.

We have a king bed that is peaking or bowing in the middle. We both sleep on the edges so the middle is starting to peak up. It is a pillowtop so we can't flip the mattress over and it can be turned sideways because the mattress is not square. Any ideas on how to fix it?
