Pluck out the seeds, then place them on a paper towel to dry. Afterwards, keep them in a dark, dray place. Not necessarily in an airtight place. In the spring, plant as you would any other seed.
I've done this with bell pepper seeds when I've had an especially good crop of tasty peppers. Keeps the strand going.

good luck

If the peppers did no longer mature the seeds did no longer the two and is only no longer practicable. Plus the F1 is a hybrid or maybe mature seeds won't improve real, in the event that they improve in any respect. you would be sorely disillusioned with the plant and fruit from a hybrid pepper. In answer on your final question, you only slowly dry them in a heat, dry area and then save in a paper bag in a cool, dry area.

Make sure the pepper is not a hybrid or your seeds may not grow true, if at all. When it is totally ripe harvest and dry the seeds. Keep them dry and cool-not cold-until you are ready to plant them.

leave a couple of peppers on the plant to really ripen, when plant starts to die off pick the peppers, remove the seed and place them on kitchen tissue paper, put another piece of paper on top & gently fold, keep in dry place till needed.

Place them in a paper sack and keep them cool and dry. They will be just fine for next season.
