I want to buy my hubby a wood working planer for Christmas? I am not into wood working and I don’t know which brand is the best to buy. I would normally just go to the store and the guys there would help me select the best one, but I went into sears to buy a craftsman, but I am very upset with this company, they changed the format of the batteries for all his rechargeable drills, saws and flashlights. So I am looking for another brand. I was looking at woodworkers supply catalog and there are lots of brands in there that I am not familiar with such as woodtek, Jet, Powermatic, and steel city, have any of you had experience with these company’s? They are very expensive, if I am going to spend 2 grand on a present for him I am wanting it to last a while. Thanks for answering my question.

My houseplant is a Croton. I think I over fed it with Miracle Gro plant food and it is looking in really bad condition. I repotted it in new peat to take the plant out of the contaminated peat it was in.
but my wife thinks the Croton is already dead. I am not sure as though the leaves are limp downwards than they should be they are still green and have not gone brown. I trimmed off the top part off the plant to maybe help.

Is it really dead or am I having false hope it is alive?

This is a photo of the plant http://i215.photobucket.com/albums/cc156/webboffin/PB030012.jpg

It resembled an African violet but grew much bigger. It had the thick, fuzzy leaves. They were varigated in color and may have had a bit of lavender in them, I can't remember. It grew trailing pieces that had baby plants on them similar to the spider plant. The bloom was a deep funny orange color that didn't seem to go with the plant at all. I'd love to find one of these, I hope someone can help me.
