use a Kitchen cleanser with bleach in and a scrub brush to remove stubborn stains. We keep a 10% solution of Chlorine bleach and water in a spray bottle under the sink, and spray the cutting board with it, especially after cutting meat. Leave it sit for 1-2 minutes and rinse it off.

A good detergent should do the trick. However, if the stains are from fruit and ingrained the chlorine bleach technique will work. If neither works, sand the board as suggested or buy a new board.

use warm water and bleach. you may have to soak it for 5 minutes or so. make sure you dry it with a paper towel and leave it out to dry over night. because the wood may dry out and split. if that happens use a paper towel and get some vegi oil and wipe it really good all over the cutting board then rinse and dry. the oil will ad the moisture back to the wood.
