The best mouse traps to buy are the LIVE mouse traps. This will not harm the mouse, and it saves from a nasty cleanup.

All you do is set the trap, the mouse climbs into it, the little door shuts behind the mouse, then you capture it and release it outside.

The best one is the kind that kills the mouse and you don't have to clean it up.
I use D-Con mouse proof. They eat the poison and go off and die. Kinda cruel but I don't want to see the little critters running across my floor at night.
I live by a field so I always find dead ones in my pool the next morning. They can't swim or once they fall in they can't figure out how to use the steps.

I use the clear plastic ones that have the one way door and they work great plus you don't kill the mouse. I would just put them in a box and take them to the park and let the mice go. they don't hurt anyone, they are just an annoyance and deserve to live.
