I kept hearing this odd scratching noise in my bathroom. I cut the light on and pulled my shower curtain back and out ran a mouse! It scurried into my bedroom and now it's hiding. Any tips on how to catch it? It's really disgusting and freaking me out...eww :(

The snap traps are best, kills them done with problem. Throw it and trap out. The glue traps work great too, but when you pick em up they are not dead and the if you try and pull them off the glue they usually leave their feet behind, then they die.

If you want to keep them alive, then I would go to Lowes, Home Depot, Ace or somewhere like that and get a live mouse trap. You put bait in it, mouse goes in to have a feast, and cannot get back out. You pick it up and can tell it is in their then you can take him outside and let him loose. Figure out how to use the trap first. I would advise driving a couple miles away and let it loose or else it would just head right back into your house.

Or you can just get some poison at the same places mentioned above. Do not use poison if you have other animals, birds, children in the house. The mouse eats the poison then doesnt feel good then will crawl into your wall or under your sink or wherever and die.

I ve used the glue traps. The way to release the mouse is to pour some cooking oil, like Crisco, onto the glue around the mouse and let it sit for a minute or two. The mouse eventually slides off. I agree that it is cruel in that the mouse is so traumatized from fighting the goo all night, but the glue traps are absolute. You get the mouse every time. I was pretty frustrated with some of the plastic humane traps. They are hit and miss. Most of the time, the bait is gone and so is the mouse.

We use little cage-type traps, putting a piece of dried bread with either olive oil or peanut butter on it inside. Do those exist where you are? When the mouse touches the food, the spring door slams shut behind it. Then you decide what you want to do with it: let it go, etc. No squished or squealing injured mice this way.

I once had a Siberian Husky that was great at catching mice. He wouldn't actually kill them, but would hold them in his mouth and take them outside for me. Unfortunately (for them), they usually ended up dying of fright!

Hello,
My household has had the same problm but our mice were in the garage. If you do not want to use a trap, you can use what we did, you can get these glue traps (ok so I know it is a trap but it doesn't harm them), you put them down wherever the mice are and they stand on them and they just get glued to them, you can choose then what to do with the mouse (set it free or kill it). Or you can use poison or mouse pellets.

Hope this helps! Good luck!

NO glue traps.I'd use the old spring release before a glue trap. The poor animal gets trapped and has to suffer! Try a humane mouse trap(much better choice). They go in and cannot get out.You can take them from the house and let them go...

Whoever suggest the glue traps has obviously never used them! There is no way to let the animal free after they get stuck on that stuff, they die miserably that way, then it's more humane to use the snap traps. Or, if you really want them alive get a live trap. But do catch it! Also, if there is one, chances are there are more, and mice carry bad diseases! Get rid of it.

Get a plug in mouse scarer, about £5. It makes the noise of a frightened mouse (inaudible to humans) & works a treat.

those glue boards are CRUEL> Get a "live trap"- it is a cage witha one-way entrance. You bait it with peanut butter or something, the mouse goes in, but can't get out. Then take it to a field, open the door, and away he goes, happy and free!
