My grandfathers is about 60 years old and still going strong. Most last a long time. I used mine for over 20 years before it went out and my new(er) one I bought in 1990 and it works great.

This is the exception to the rule, to be sure, but I have a 1939 Kelvinator in my garage that I use to store beer. You know the kind - they have what looks like a washtub on the top of the fridge? My repairman loves me for it!
Ten to fifteen years seems to be an average bet for modern fridges though.
