When making your bed, is it more important to have the comforter's print facing up rather than going by where the tag is located on the comforter? For example, I have a comforter with a repeat pattern of urns with flowers in them. Should the pattern be facing the head of the bed as if you are looking at them like a picture, or should I go by the tag or the dimensions of the comforter in relation to the California King size mattress? Is it possible or common that if manufactured by machine, the print could be facing the wrong direction or does the print display the proper direction which the comforter is supposed to face?

I want to hang christmas lights outside around my windows (around them isn't made out of wood its more like.. plasticky? its not cheap stuff..) anyways, I was wondering if duct tape would be strong enough to hold from now until after christmas.. here the weather during winter is very cold with lots of wind and lots of snow! (canada :) ) or if you have any other ideas without having to nail or make holes on the house, it would be appreciated.. thanks!

I was wondering where I could buy a stripper pole? I am in college so I don't want one real expensive.

Do you know of any shops in Missouri that sell any? Or any online sites that sell them?

And how much do they cost?

I have seven children and a large drafty house. We've haven't lived here that long. My husband and I were told by a guy who cleaned our wood burning stove and chimney that the brick around and under the wood burning stove is dry (the cement or what ever inbetween the bricks) and that it needs to be redone in order to be safe. I want to know is there any other way to make it safe without pulling the stove off of the brick platorm and yanking all the bricks out and redoing it. Can I put cement over it again and just wipe it off of the actual bricks, leaving to fall inbetween the bricks---on top of the older dry cement? The stove is very heavy of course, and the platform that it is on is very pretty--its just that the cement is coming loose. Any suggestions would be great. Thanks!

I live in an apartment complex where, unfortunately the management couldn't care less about keeping the grounds neat clean, or even safe. I have two GIANT pine trees just outside my apartment, which drop needles and cones year round, and especially getting worse now that the weather is starting to change. Should these needles be removed for safety's sake? Are they a fire hazard when so close to a building, especially when in a huge apartment complex, which is OLD buildings...I feel like this place could go up like a tinder box if even a small fire were to start, and a whole lot of people would be homeless. It is basically a slum atmosphere type place....I hate it, but am on disability, and cannot afford to qualify for anything better at the moment. Do I need to get out there and rake and remove those pine cones and needles myself, since management WILL NOT do it. Don't EVEN suggest asking them to....been there, done that with so many things, and even gone so far as to report to city.

I've got an autographed shirt - it's blue with autographs made in black soft-tip pen. I wanted to hang it on the wall but I've been told it'd lose its color.

How do I keep it without it losing its color and without any sorts of problems?

P.S. I have no idea in what category I'm supposed to post it, so excuse me if it's in the wrong one.

The day they hit the ground people are out raking them up.
Why do we rake them at all?
Why don't we let them just rot into the soil?

I have read that pulling them up would help but I have NO idea what the weed looks like to pull it up. Our yard was obviously not very well maintained by the people who lived here last. We only rent so I am not putting the $ into having the yard redone. Is there anything I can maybe mix with a grass seed and lay grass and "it" down together?

Any help would be appriciated. We have to put shoes on to walk to the hose!!!

Thanks all!

Here is the question I asked yesterday:i have a really bad smell around my washing machine and dryer. Sometimes it smells and sometimes it doesnt. It has been happening for years. It even smelled sometimes when my washer was brand new. It also did it with my old washer. It is the worst it has been. I feel dizzy like it is making me sick. It is a terrible smell. We have pulled the washer out and cant see any mold or wet walls. We washed all the dirty clothes and that cant be it. It is smelling up my entire home. Thanks.
Well we took a look at the drain pipe and there is a trap but there is also a vent pipe leaking sewer gas in the house. My dad says there is a end that lets air in but wont let any out and that will fix it (there was no end on the vent pipe and it doesnt go out the roof it is in my house) my dad called the part a airless vent. I am wondering if it is safe not to have the vent outside and have it inside with one of those pieces on the end. Please help.

The metal piece that screws onto the faucet broke off of the hose when I pulled the hose too hard. I've had the hose a year or two, and other than the part that broke off (which now makes the hose unusable), it's a good hose.

It is hard wired to my home's electrical system. It only goes off at night - never in the day. Seems to go off when the heater comes on. A few power outlets in my home also quit working around the same time. But I checked the circuit breaker and none of the circuits are tripped. Any advice?

This is going to sound weird, but I left the box to my powdered Tide detergent open, and a couple of days later, on the inside of the lid, was a blob of a bright orange cheesy-looking substance. It was about the diameter of a quarter, but thick and kind of mounded up. Very gross. Any idea whether this was caused by an insect, and if so, what kind? If it helps, my laundry room is in the basement. Eeew.
