You will need a fork and spade and a very strong back and dig deep to get them out.

Brambles are bit like Bindweed - once you have them, you seem to have them for life! Cut the brambles to 8" from ground level; then cut the bottom off of a 2l plastic drinks bottle and place over. Then apply a strong mix of Sodium Chlorate (the bottle will contain the poison) - keep applying to any new growth and when it sets off again in the spring. Beware though - nothing will grow in that spot for up to a year. I have had no luck at all with glyphosate on brambles but this does seem to work. Good luck!

Keep Spraying the leaves with round up.
If you want to be success-full do it in spring. When the round up kills the roots you can pull the bramble out.
At this time of the year pulling the roots out is the only thing you can do.
DO NOT CUT IT however close to the ground it would only encourage growth in the spring

You will have to cut them down to the roots, and dig the roots out. They are deep though but there is no other way to get rid of them.

A flamethrower comes to mind, but you need to really get rid of all the roots, and beware, as they grow for miles underground.
