What respirator filters or protective equipment can be worn to protect from arsenic if it is in the wood. We were going to cut it down and burn it or cut it down and dumpster it. I heard even cutting it is bad but its gotta be taken down sooner or later. Don't they make respirators cartridges for arsenic or no? Were can I get the wood tested to find out if it has it in it? We have no way of telling. Its like 20 years old.

I have a lot of pets and use flat king size sheets to cover my furniture and bird cage. Where on-line can I buy cheap flat sheets? I don't need a "set" of sheets - I only need the flat ones.....everyplace I've found cheap sheets only sells the set.

Yellow water has recently begun coming out of the sink and the shower -- only if I turn on the hot water faucet. The house is only 2 years old. What could this be and is it safe?

I know this sounds like some other ?'s, but I still had to ask. Better safe than sorry. The fireplace I have has the old gas switch in the brick that you need a key to turn on, but the gas line has been capped off. There is a grate for the "wood" that is about 4 inches off the bottom the fireplace. It looks a ceramic brick around the inside. The opening going up to the chimeny is about 8 to 10 inches in dia. I also have a control lever for outside air control. There is a switch on the wall that appears to blowing air. It does have some suction from the bottom, but no air comes out any where in the house. Also when it is turned on, and fire burning, there is a smell of plastic burning. What does that fan do? The fireplace has two chainmail looking screens, and a folding glass door. Can anyone help?????

Ok.. there is my room. Yeah, its not clean at all!! (i have been out of town for 3 weeks). Um.. ok on the wall where the mural is there is like a 2 - 3 inch gap between the top of it and my ceiling (its the white part). Any ideas on what I could put up there. As you can see in the other pictures the rest of my room is orange and my bathroom is pink. I don't know what to do and it bugs me.
Any ideas?? thanks!

I want to purchase a gazebo for my backyard, however I don't want to spend a lot of money. Maybe something under $150. I'm searching for something more durable than the instant tents.

I am wiring a garage and I need 100ft of wire to run from my house panel box(200amp) to 100 amp garage panel box.
My problem: I have two lengths of #3 gauge wire(3/3 copper wire) one is 60ft and one is 40ft. Can i put in a junction box and splice them together or is it against code?
Seeing this as a fair sized wire and marrets cannot be used, what can I use?

Given:
-10 year old basement
-putting 2x4 walls in all around to be insulated with fiberglass insulation and covered with insulating panels (pink panels 4'x8' about 1" thick), then paneling
-basement has always been dry

So, the question is, how shall I prepare the walls, putting up plastic sheeting all around the perimeter or painting on a sealing paint?
Or is it really necessary at all to put in a vapor barrier given the amount of insulation I'm using?

Basically we were interested in a house. The problem is the basement/cellar. There's basically nothing down there but it's being "remodeled" to have a floor, lighting and at least one good window.

But when asked about a bathroom - the answer was no for the toilet and shower. I didn't get a reason, just a message on my phone saying "uhh we can't do that".

I can settle without a second bathroom, but can it really NOT be possible to have a sink? That's the most important.

Am looking for nice NEW appliances (just had a very bad kitchen fire, Infact, my poor roommate has 3rd degree burns on her hand!)---but do not want to pay the un-Godly amount of money that they cost. I am looking for stainless steel microwave, range, dishwasher--and possibly refridgerator---might be able to get by without that appliance. Anyway---do any of you fine folks know of a "scratch and dent" type outlet in the Knoxville to Morristown area? I would be so very, VERY grateful if you could and would. Again---thank you so very much! Ann

I can't tell if I like the lamp (the red one) or not. It was purchased to replace the nice and simple one in the background in order to better match the decor and dress up the place a bit. I guess I want to gauge your opinions before I let guests see it. Also, if you know of any lamps that would fit my place better please share a link or something! Thanks everyone.
