just curious, but how do you shock yourself using the carpet thing? like i know that you have to rub your feet on the carpet...but then what do you touch?

It helps to have the right soles on your shoes. Nylon soles work the best. I have a pair of moccasins that can really work up a charge. The Grandkids run from me when I have them on. If I turn the lights off, you can see the spark jump. Touch a door knob, or even better is screw holding the plate on a light switch. Grandchildren's ears work terrifically!

You have to electrically ground yourself. Touch another person, a metal object that is plugged into an outlet.
