jacaranda is the genus or family name for a tropical plant, there are over 30 in this particular species, one plant is jacaranda arboria, this branch of the family Bignoniaceae will soon become no more because its habitat is being turned into farmland and as it is endemic to cuba will soon be lost to the world.

I don't think this tree will ever become extinct because its grown all over South Africa and all the streets of Pretoria are lined with them and in late October/November they are in blossom,a fantastic sight to see,so get your self out there quick.

jakaranda tree is red or blue a native tree of maderia lovely tree its comming into flower soon and at xmas is just fab john eric
