why do supermarket toilets have blue lights instead of the normal white strip lights

it often says on a sign "we have changed the lighting to deter anti-social behaviour" what they mean is that you cannot see your veins in this kind of light - have a look next time you go- so junkies cannot use it as a place to inject drugs.

i've only seen this in one supermarket round our way, and they've took em out now. They used to give me headache. After they'd gone i was chatting to a women, she said it was to stop people doing drugs in there. I'd never heard this, my friend said yes, they do it in some pubs too.
I don't know how they work.

These lights are to deter 'junkies' as their veins don't show up, they are fitted in many toilets, walkways, underpasses etc

They are some kind of disinfecting lights to kill getms.
