Brick can be tricky, If possible avoid the grout joints. Go to a Lowe's or Home Depot type store. They have display boards showing what type of anchors to use for specific surface's. Such as Red Head anchor bolts, Lead sleeve anchors w/ Lag screws. etc.etc.There are hundreds of different anchors avail. Brick is traditionally soft compared to concrete and cmu block. So choose carefully.

LCD TV are not heavy, I would use brown 7mm wall plugs with 1 1/2 - 2" screws. Brick is easy to fix into.

I would use a type of anchor bolt called "hole anchor."

This is the type where you drill a hole into brick or concrete and you insert the anchor bolt assembly. When you tighten the bolt, a wedge goes into the sleeve (anchor) and expand to secure itself to the concrete/brick.

Be careful NOT to tighten too much as it can crack the brick/concrete. It's hard to explain, but it should be tight, not blood vessle popping, teeth grinding, muscle spasming kind of tight. If you are putting your whole weight into it, you are doing it too much.

I would use 60mm x 5mm (metric) or 2.1/2" x 10 (imperial) Don't forget the plaster, approx. 15mm (1/2") will hold nothing so you in effect have maximum of 45mm (2") of screw actually gripping/holding. Use 7mm masonary bit/plug.
