I bought a new set but couldn't get the old knob to come off. How much does it cost (labor) to have a plumber replace the tub faucet, control knob and shower head? Do they charge by hour or a flat fee for this?

The range I have now is a slide-in but slide-ins are ungodly expensive. Is there any reason why I can't just buy a freestanding and slide it in that space. The space is about a 1/4 inch over 30" and the freestanding one I was looking at is 30". I need some help here!

We came home yesterday to a waterfall noise comming from our basement, when we got down there, we were supprised to find water pouring into our basement from the warm weather melting all the snow. We do have a brand new sub pump down there and it did kick on and has been keeping up with pumping it out, but how long will that last? We still have lots of snow out there and I have a feeling this could go on for a week or more! Is there anything else I can do in the meantime?

We've tried everything, and they're mostly little tiny ones, but they're driving us crazy. The place is clean and well taken care of, but no matter what we try, we can't seem to get rid of them in the kitchen and bathroom. Moving is not an option right now.

I need to drill a series of holes in a poured concrete foundation to allow for a 6" vent to be installed. I would like to drill a series of holes in a circle, then multiple holes in the middle to make it easier to chissel out. Any recommendations on types / models of rotary hammer drills?

Lately I've noticed quite a few average-sized brownish black ants (not carpenter ants) in our house. Our house was treated for termites before we bought it a few months ago. Aren't termite treatments capable of killing or keeping ants away? Thanks in advance for any help.

I have a bathroom to clean that has been neglected for awhile, floors need scrubbing, shower and bath, all that sort of thing, I just want to get it really clean and from there I will maintain it. If you've had a job like this done (just a one-shot cleaning), or if you do housecleaning professionally, what would you expect to pay or what would you charge?
