Electric or gas powered?
Either way you simply disconnect the bolt(s) (Hold the blade, use something to make sure you don't cut yourself like a block of wood, turn whatever tool you have placed on the nut and/or bolt to loosen it) that hold it on, but BEWARE as on gas models you can accidentally start the engine doing that.
Make Certain that you have disconnected the spark plug wire and that it cannot accidentally re-attach or contact the plug as it is very dangerous if that happens.
If electric Make sure it is UNPLUGGED.

One tip to start : Never lay your mower on the side!
If you can, always change the nut, bolts, washers and blade of the mower at the same time. You should be able to get full replacement sets from good hardware stores or from the place you got your mower from.
Sometimes, you don't need to replace the blade. All you might need to do is to sharpen the blade using a knife sharpening block (grey coloured).

turn it on its side and there should be one big bolt in the middle of the blade loosen it (you may need a pry bar also to keep the blade from spinning) take it to you local hardware store tell them what mower size you have and repeat the proses. good luck

Never tip it on its side... keep the spark plug in the air...
Take the plug out, insert a little bit of rope in the chamber.. turn it till it locks... then proceed to loosen the blade bolt, if its not too bad, sharpen it... but its usually best to replace it.
