If they are aluminium and not too big they can be put in the bath. If not you can buy a useful gadget that looks like triple tongs with sponges on that can clean up to 3 slats at a time. I don't know where to buy but the door to door 'Beterware' man used to sell them.

For a thorough cleaning: If your blinds are made of vinyl, you can take them down and soak them in a mild bleach solution in your bathtub for a few minutes, then give them a good once-over with a rag. Rinse them well and dry them off, then hang them back up on the windows. (Wear old clothes when you clean them though, because bleach can ruin your clothing... and do a spot test first if you have colored blinds. I've only done this with white vinyl mini-blinds.)

Mine stays in situ.
Provided that you have regularly cleaned them before, it shouldn't be a big problem.
Run the feather duster along first of all to take off surface dust
Then adjust so you can access every slats.
Take a damp cloth and wipe each slat in sections taking care not to wet the cords.
You will be amazed how much dirt you will take off.
Patiently do each one in each section until the last one.
You will be pleased of what you will have done.
A job well done.
Good Luck!

If you want a cheap & easy way of doing it without taking them down, try bending a wire coathanger & wrapping a damp cloth around it. It should fit nicely in between the slats. Warm soapy water should do it & if you also put a small amount of fabric conditioner in the water, it will make them less statc & less prone to attracting dust in the future. Believe me - it's how I clean my kitchen blinds.

i own a cleaning company and they are difficult but it depends on the dirt if its greasy dirt you need to take them down anf soak them in the tub with mister clean or something comparable then let them hang dry and whipe to remove the scum if it is just dust then either the vac or duster will work also home depo has a special duster that gets in between them good luck
