We came home yesterday to a waterfall noise comming from our basement, when we got down there, we were supprised to find water pouring into our basement from the warm weather melting all the snow. We do have a brand new sub pump down there and it did kick on and has been keeping up with pumping it out, but how long will that last? We still have lots of snow out there and I have a feeling this could go on for a week or more! Is there anything else I can do in the meantime?

Unless the pump runs dry and does not shut off, it can run for a long time, esp if it is brand new.

It should run for days without an issue. The fresh influx of water will keep it cool.

But you have bigger problems if your pump can't keep up. Perhaps the ground has settled around your home such that it is level or worse graded towards your foundation? If so get some dirt and pile it up 6" high around your home, grading it down to level over say three feet. Add piping to your gutters to get it at least 8 feet from your house.

Where does your pump drain to? Is it possible the water is making its way back in?

It will run as long as needed. See what you can do outside to direct the snow melt away from your house. It is obviously better not to have water coming in the basement to start wilth.

It can run continuously for a long time but I would get a submersible pump for a back up
