My house is 42 years old and the foundation walls are failing, the basement floors are cracking, the living room is sloping. I definitely need to find a solution fast. I would like to know if pre-cast concrete foundation walls can be used to repair or replace an old foundation that is failing. Is this possible?

I recently had a female guest over to my brand new house. She was wearing high-heeled shoes, and the heels caused small indentions ALL OVER my brand new hardwood (laminate) floor. The indentions are unsightly, and unfortunately, are all over the floor! I am extremely upset, and I've been searching for the most cost-effective way to fix the hardwood floors. Any ideas?

I have cleaned the heck out of it many times. It was given to me by someone and I cleaned it really good when I first got it before I even used it. And then I have cleaned it more and more too but it still makes a dirt smell especially after it runs. What can I do to make it stop?

There's a pretty good sized space between the basement door and the patio in a house we are considering; a couple of inches. The area shows no unusual wear or shifting, but it should be filled to keep water out. It's too wide for a regular caulk job. Can anyone suggest the proper way to fill this area?

Hi I was wondering if cracks in wood furniture will get worse over time? I'm looking at buying a bed that has a small crack in it because the wood was imported. The bed has been in Toronto for 2 full seasons. The store will fix the cracks, but I just wanted to see if this will reoccur.

Thanks for your help.

When you open the front door , you are looking into the bathroom.(about 15 feet)
Is that a problem?
I normally keep the door closed.
If this is a problem , what do I do to fix it?
My life isn't all that great & hasn't been in years.
I have lived here for 9 years & things seem to be at a stand still for me.
All I do is work & tend to my animals.

OK, so I am an idiot for flushing it. Now it's stuck there and clogging things up. I don't want to call a plumber, so don't suggest that. What can I do to get it unclogged? I'm thinking of trying everything from pouring clorox down the drain, Liquid Plumber, gasoline, boiling water. Maybe I'll try to snake it, but I'm not going to buy a snake. What else could I shove down there?
