I just recently move around some furnature in my bedroom and we scratched a lot of hardwood. Is there a product that can help blend in the scratches or do we have to re stain it and then apply the poly?

There is an excellent product that I have used several times that will actually remove scratches in your finish. Wood-Solv
(I believe it used to be RX for wood floors), removes scratches by softening the current finish with chemical. The softened finish is then buffed to redistribute the finish and fill the scratches. Once your finish re-hardens, it is coated with an extra hard poly. This system works very well and I'm sure you can find more info online.

Use the best products for wood. Howard Restor - A- Finish and Beeswax are great wood fixer -uppers. I use all the Howard products a lot in the furniture store where I work. They work on water stains, scratches, dull finishes, dried out wood, you name it. You can get them at hardware stores.

Gentle buffing of the affected area with a pen-knife followed by application of some floor cream and then brushing and polishing should take care of the problem you have narrated!

To do it right, you have to refinish it.....But it has to be hardwood, some laminates can not be refinished, be sure you know what you are working with before you start your project, otherwise you will have to replace the floor or put vinyl, or carpet on top of it.
