Hi I was wondering if cracks in wood furniture will get worse over time? I'm looking at buying a bed that has a small crack in it because the wood was imported. The bed has been in Toronto for 2 full seasons. The store will fix the cracks, but I just wanted to see if this will reoccur.

Thanks for your help.

Cracks in imported wood are normally caused by changes in humidity levels. If your humidity is not as high as the area the furniture came from, it will dry out and crack. I found this when I sent wood items home from Japan. I would think that after 2 years, the cracking should have reached it's peak.
