is it advisable to do so, what constraints would it have.
Is it true if they are no pillars the first floor should have similar plan as ground floor and one cannot deviate much with the rooms plan.

Someone advised to bring down the whole house and start constructing with pillars.
My house is 25 years old and is in Hyderabad.

We just bought a new house with boiler heat, neither of us know a thing about boiler heat. So Here's the situation-

Issue #1-

House gets very hot even if we turn all thermostats all the way down as far as they will go, we have 4 thermostats, 2 up & 2 down.

Issue #2-

The weather is starting to break here in Michigan, I turned the switch (the one that looks like a light switch) off at the boiler the other day. Well I wake up freezing this morning, the temp dropped as I slept, so I go to the lower level of the house and hit the switch thinking nothing of it and then realize my feet are wet so I look down and see water on the floor coming from the boiler. What did I do wrong? Will this require a service call? And, for the near future, is there anything I need to know for shutting down a boiler for the season? All help would be greatly appreciated.

We presently have a large velux window (50 inches wide 35 high )fitted into the roof in the loft , The loft is being converted and a dorma window is going to be built. Could the velux be reused in a vertical orientation as the new window in the dorma?

Any ideas on this appreciated

I wish to fit new overhead lights in my kitchen, however the new lights only come with two wire connectors (Live Brown and Blue Neutral) but the house cabling also includes an earth wire. There is nowhere on the new lamps to connect the earth wire to? What should I do?

I have started seed in little cups of soil, also in baggies this year. Some of the ones in the soil are leggy, though they are only days old. My Mammoth Sunflowers are already 4" tall at 3 days out of the soil.

QUESTIONS:
Sould I keep them indoors OR can I place them outdoors now?
Should I cover them with anything overnight and during storms, and or, freezes?

I am in Texas - USDA Zone 7-b

Hello All,

My parents used to say that if you switched a light on and off really fast - or any electronic appliance for that matter - that you would blow it. Can anyone tell me if that really is the case and why?

While on holiday in Menorca I saw this lovely plant and cant find out what it is. It was sort of shrub like with darkish green leaves that looked a little like a nettle leaf. It had a pine/fresh smell to leaves. The flowers were 3 consisted of inner, middle and outer parts and all parts where different colours, so you could get maybe red, orange and white all in one bloom.
Thanks

I have had a problem for ages with washing coming out of the washer dirtier than when it went in!! It is only 2 years old and there is that much scum built up under the rubber that I presume the washer is not working properly. I have an extended warrantly but have been told that this problem is not covered by it. Surely this dirt build up is not normal? My washer before this which was 13 years old never had this problem. Any advice on this problem please its really doing my head in. Thankyou

Can anybody tell me if they think I`m paying too much? We have a payment meter and it`s costing around £15 - £20 a week, around £70 per month!!! (we are a family of 4 in a medium sized house, we have a dishwasher I use once a day, a big telly that`s on most of the day and a laptop that`s normally on all the time but I make sure everything else is turned off. I don`t even use my tumble dryer anymore as I know this will cost a lot too!

I called the electric company and they have asked that I take a meter reading once a day for 5 days. By my calculations it works out that for each quarter we`re paying around £220!!!

Hello I am wanting to hang a wreath on the gate of my fence which is chain link...I was just wondering if there is a certain way I should do this. I love to decorate but it's kind of hard as a woman to do it on my own correctly. I am just curious if there is certain hardware I need to hang it or anything. Any advice helps!

And the Laundering has become a fashing now-a-days and a fashion to wear ironed clothes for Dress Code. Is it not? May be it is easy to put for laundry and get clean clothes. Cleanliness is next to godliness and thus clean clothes pose a good Dress Code. Hope some good answers crop up

Hi - I planted lawn 2 years ago (from a packet which states it can be grown in shady areas) which has grown BUT somewhat patchy and not thick. I also threw on another lot of seeds + soil in the patchy spots. The areas which were mor shaded did not grow well so I then grew some shoots in a smaller pot in filled in persistent patches. I'm annoyed because I have taken some time to always keep the water up etc. What should I do and what soil/fertilizer is best? (NB. My husband would not let me buy lawn patches because he thinks they die easily). This is Australia and we are in the season - 1st month of Autumn. Thanks
