Bleach can sometimes make the dress worse... as bleach does not always make whites whiter but grey.

Just try using washing powders like 'Vanish' stain remover. Put the dress in the wash on its own (no other clothes in wash), wash it using Vanish & your usual wash products. May have to try a few times if its that bad.

If all fails....
(A) Ask your mum to get another white dress.
(B) Dye your dress red/pink.

Good luck!

I always wanted to wear a red dress too! However, my dress is white trimmed in red (apple actually, from David's Bridal) and it is beautiful. Try on some red dresses and see how you feel. If you are paying for it, get it. Enjoy being different. My wedding is very low budget, but unique. I am not doing anything typical, and I think people will remember it better then the stuffy ones that are all the same. Before white came to be tradition, brides wore their 'best dress,' whatever color.

Bleach

Don't use Bleach this will cause it to go gray or yellow. Use instead one cup of White Vinegar to either a sink full of water or by itself in a washing machine to which you have added water to either the low to medium level of hot water if this dress is not cotton then just use warmest water setting you have on your machine, soak for about one hour then put it through a normal wash cycle without any detergent, then when cycle is over you can then put your dress in the dryer if you have done so already on previous washes. Your dress will come out white, odor free, stains will disappear if they are not set in by the dryer. And Vinegar will soften your dress leaving it unnecessary to use fabric softner. Good Luck

When this happened, was it put in the dryer? If so, it's probably ruined.

I'd test it first by buying distilled water and putting the dress and the water in a bowl and let it soak. After some time see if any of the water turns red. If so, maybe you can fix it. I think they're are products you can buy that are suppose to absorb the colors from the water.

depends what material your dress is made from! you could try first soaking it in cold, salt water, then put it back in the washing machine with a cup full of bleach along with a small amount of washing powder on a 90 wash. failing that, why don't you buy a machine dye and change the colour completely and you'll have a new dress!

If it is cotton wash it again at 60c with a pre-wash and main wash using a measure of vanish or similar bleaching agent in the wash too and maximum soap powder. You may have to do this twice before it.

you can buy dylon colour run saver or dylon net curtain whitener, if you use bleach, unless the dress in 100% cotton, you cant guarantee results, has the dress went all pink, or is it colour transferrence by leaving the red jumber damp, beside the dress...?
