We presently have a large velux window (50 inches wide 35 high )fitted into the roof in the loft , The loft is being converted and a dorma window is going to be built. Could the velux be reused in a vertical orientation as the new window in the dorma?

Any ideas on this appreciated

Best to contact Velux technical with the window model number. I doubt if the flashings will suit.

I suppose you could if cost saving is the aim. The way they open may be a problem for a vertical window though, you may need to check building regs.

For the size code look on the plate on the window when you open it. The code will start GGL or CGL, then a number. This will tell anyone who knows about Velux windows the correct size.

A window in the roof is subject to a lot more of the seasonal weather changes than a window designed for a wall environment and is therefore is made to a higher standard, so fitting it to a dorma will greatly exceed the normal that would be required, and should be well suited for the purpose you intend.
