I am getting fleas in my house. I don't have any dogs or cats and I am 100 percent sure it isn't the fish.
Where do these nasty things come from and why do they cling on to me? It is definitely not lice because I picked up the little vermin and squashed it with my fingernail. I hate these things.

I feel like I am taking a stab in the dark here ...

We are building a little home along the arts and crafts style. We don't have the money to get professionals to do the aesthetics work (terrace ... front porch railings ... window framing and such ...)

Where could I go to find up and coming wood crafters who would like the experience and the opportunity to add to their portfolio for a minimal cost on our part?

Any thoughts? Thanks much!

I have a light in the loft but want to add in a single power point. Can I just take it off the light switch or is this not wise?

I own a condo and want to install a window air conditioner. Problem is I don't have standard windows. And I've heard from numerous people that a window ac is much more effective and cheaper than a portable unit. I do have a sliding glass door. Anyone have any success in installing a window ac in a sliding glass door? The ac unit will prevent the door from fully closing and there would be a gap left at the top from the unclosed sliding door. How would you seal this gap? Also, another thought was using the window ac in the bedroom door way and dispensing the heat into the hallway. But then would have to find a way to seal the whole doorway and cutting a portion out of this seal to fit the ac. Or any other methods you might recommend to installing a "window" ac unit in locations other than a window.

basically, if a sink is left with bleach in it over night, and you then splash it over yourself the next day, can it still bleach your clothes?

My son just vomited up all over the carpet (why not the tiles!) and it's only curdled milk, if that helps at all! Thanks for any suggestions.

My house was built in 1997 and while I was working in the yard, I strated digging up garbage, paint cans, bricks etc. The builders did not throw away thier garbage, instead just buried it. Im thinking that this is what has caused me not to be able to maintain a lawn. When I sod my yard it quickly goes brown, and stays infested with weeds and fungus. I have treated my yard with fungucide, and for critters yet nothing is working. I also have a tree that I planted in the yard that has grown fungus and has not grown in the 7 years. Is there anything that I can do to treat the soil?

Be specific, please. (What to do to make it grow faster, better)

If a flower, has to have flowers by 3 months, if edible, has to be so you can eat it at 3 months.

All I know is I have to pressure wash the wall and let it dry before I start painting. Is there anything else I should be aware of when I'm painting the exterior wall of my house?

It has me a little worried and confused. I was lying in bed trying to go to sleep and kept hearing a ticking/buzzing sound by my bed. Turned out it was coming from my baseboard heater. I turned off the heat, still didn't stop. I turned off the breaker switch to all the heat in my apartment, still didn't stop. What could it be? How do I get it to stop? I tapped and banged on it a little bit, looked to see if anything was stuck inside, nothing. and it is on a wall that is not connected to anything but the outside.

I have a modular home and my husband thinks the best way to get rid of the textured drywall is to gut the house and replace all the drywall. This is a HUGE house 3800 sq ft (on the floor) so thats a lot of wall.

I am wondering if it would be more cost effective to use a plaster over it to fill in the small groves and then sand it down and repaint.... also would this last a long time or do you think it would chip in a couple of years?
