this came from inside the tank (seems like a corroded washer) when I scrubbed it, the water was all black. It is not rust and nothing I have tried seems to have worked on the stain.

We are thinking of buying a house, the high end of the utility bill is about $250, thats for everything gas electric water and sewer. When we looked a this house they had the heat about 5-7 degrees higher than we would, how much of a difference would this make on a bill? Significant, or not much at all?
Thanks.

...i've got some water leakage coming from under my toilet. I'm thinking it's probably the seal that needs replacing. How do I know what size seal to buy....or is there basically just one size?

This is for the average residential toilet.

The wall paper stripped off fine but left the old dried paste on the walls. I don't know if the old paper was pre pasted or old fashioned paste. We want to paint the walls, not repaper them.

You thought he dried them & he didn't. He thought you put them in the drier & you didn't. Well, by the time you notice it, they have begun to smell bad & then you have to wash them again. There's no mold or mildew that I can see. So-o-o-o, exactly WHERE DOES THE ODOR COME FROM?

I spilled red wine on a white top while over somebody's house. They put it in the washing machine for me & when I went to take it out, I noticed change in the bottom of the washing machine and offered to take it out. But they informed me the copper in the coins helps to remove stains. The wine came out but I am wondering if it was really from the change or because I washed the top immediately.
