I've read alot of plants, flowers and vegetables are toxic to dogs. This will be my first time gardening, what would be safe for my dog, and good for a beginning gardener?

Don't use pesticides and commercial fertilizers on your flowers or grass. They are suspected of causing cancer in pets.

Dont plant geraniums, they are poisonous , also no matter what you plat, the flowers will never be safe from a lab puppy, they will get dug up as fast as you can plat them, so start with cages, covering the flowers until they take root.

Whatever you do do not plant any jasmine. Sure it looks and smells good, but all parts are extremmely dangerous to pets and humans.
